Angelica Desjardins Martinez
Life can feel overwhelming at different stages of life, whether you are helping your child through big emotions, navigating changes as a teen or young adult, or trying to manage stress and challenges as an adult. My goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build self-understanding, and create meaningful change.
I work with children ages 3 and up, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, school stress, and adjustment concerns. I also have a special passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals and believe deeply in meeting each client where they are while recognizing and building upon their unique strengths.
My approach to therapy is integrative and individualized because no two people experience life in exactly the same way. I draw from person-centered principles and tailor treatment to each client’s goals using evidence-based and developmentally appropriate interventions. I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, expressive interventions, and play-based approaches when appropriate.
For younger clients, I often utilize play and sandtray techniques to help children express emotions, process experiences, strengthen coping skills, and build emotional awareness in ways that feel natural and engaging. With adolescents and adults, I focus on creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship that supports insight, emotional growth, and practical change.
I believe therapy should feel like a place where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I look forward to walking alongside you through the process of growth and healing.
